Executive recruitment is the process of finding, hiring and placing executives for a company or organization. To find qualified candidates, headhunters or search firms usually post job ads and look for relevant candidates through networking. But it’s not only possible to hire candidates with direct contact.

A lot of executive recruitment is conducted internally because there are already people within a company who are capable of handling a new position. When companies find talent within their own organization, they often “promote” employees to leadership roles rather than hire from outside the organization.
